Let’s be honest-life can be overwhelming, messy, and downright hard sometimes. I’m Emily Johannes, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, and for the past 10+ years I’ve been helping kids (6+), teens, adults, and families cut through the noise, get real with themselves, and do the deep work.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I use an eclectic approach, pulling from evidence-based models like CBT, DBT, EMDR, TF-CBT, and IFS-because no two people (or healing journeys) are the same. What matters most is finding what works for you, in a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. Therapy with me is a collaborative process-think of it as a judgment-free zone where you can vent, reflect, grow, and even laugh (yes, laughter is allowed in therapy).
I’m not here to “fix” you. I’m here to walk with you as you untangle the stuff that’s holding you back-whether that’s anxiety, trauma, family dynamics, or just the weight of being human. My style is grounded, relational, and no-BS. I show up as a real person with quirks and flaws, and I invite you to do the same.
Outside the therapy room, I’m navigating life with with my husband and three wild boys, chasing the sun on the lake, flowing through yoga (or just lying on the mat-let’s be real), hanging out with my backyard chickens, or whipping up a batch of salsa. I believe healing is a mix of connection, courage, and choosing yourself-over and over again, even when it’s hard.
If you’re ready to dive in, I’m here for it.
