Hi, I’m Jodi Nelson, I’ve been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 20 years. Coming from a relational and eclectic theoretical approach, I provide individual, couples and family therapy and have experience supporting clients through depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment disorders, grief, relationship struggles and life transitions. Grounded in Attachment Theory, I also utilize an insight-oriented approach and place emphasis on stress management, self care, self-esteem and spiritual development. My special interests include relationship counseling, women’s issues, holistic health and wellness, and practices such as meditation, mindfulness and yoga among other mind, body and spirit practices. I am passionate about helping clients grow through self-discovery and achievement of a more balanced, fulfilling life.
I have an eclectic theoretical approach to therapy that is warm, integrative, collaborative, and grounded in both clinical expertise and personal experience. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness and relaxation practices.
I believe that true healing happens in a space of authenticity, safety and connection where clients feel seen, heard and understood. I am someone who understands not only from my training and education, but from having walked my own path of healing and growth. I bring a deep respect for each person’s unique journey and create a safe, supportive environment where real, meaningful change can unfold. I value honesty, connection, and the courage it takes to show up and do the work of becoming more whole and more healed. I’d love to walk that journey with you!!
